Social management statement
Kaiser & Kühne has been acting sustainably for over 30 years
As Kaiser & Kühne Freizeitgeräte GmbH has been a successful medium-sized company for over 30 years, we attach great importance to maintaining jobs, among other things.
General ethical principles in corporate management and procurement policy have become increasingly important in recent years. A development that we take very seriously. The responsible use of raw materials has been a top priority in our company since its foundation. Instead of focussing our company exclusively on quarterly sales and profit figures in the short term, without regard for people and nature, we consciously focus on our social and ecological responsibility as a building block for long-term economic success. Our relationship with employees, suppliers and customers is characterised by respect and a sense of responsibility. Our actions are orientated towards sustainability in a generation-oriented way of thinking. We take our social responsibility seriously. Our core requirements are described below.
Social responsibility in the procurement of raw materials
Our products are based on high-quality raw materials that meet our strict quality standards. It is very important to us to work towards good labour law, social and ecological standards in our supply chain, which extends to the most diverse regions of the world. Kaiser & Kühne Freizeitgeräte GmbH aims to ensure that the standards that are considered responsible and ethically correct are also applied throughout the entire supply chain wherever possible. The following principles are important to us:
- No discrimination
We do not allow discrimination, exclusion or preference to be given to persons on the basis of gender, age, religion, birth, social background, disability, ethnic origin, nationality, membership of employee organisations, political membership or opinion, sexual orientation, family obligations, marital status or any other situation that could result in discrimination. In particular, employees must not be subjected to harassment or disciplinary measures on the above grounds. We deliberately employ staff from different countries, including those with a migration background. The right to complain for every employee and the company's obligation to follow up on every complaint is a matter of course for us. - Appropriate remuneration
The wages and social benefits paid to employees are in line with the applicable laws and binding collective labour agreements. Wages are paid on time, regularly and in full, thus enabling employees and their families to live in dignity. Wage levels reflect the qualifications and educational level of employees and are based on regular working hours. We comply with the currently valid rates in accordance with the Minimum Wage Act (MiLoG), as amended. - Reasonable working hours
The working hours comply with the applicable laws. There is a right to rest breaks every working day and to at least one day off every seven days; as a rule, there are two days off per week. If overtime is worked voluntarily, it is permitted in exceptional cases if it does not significantly increase the likelihood of work-related risks. - Occupational safety
Employees are provided with safe and healthy working conditions. Young workers, pregnant women and young mothers are particularly vulnerable. Systems are in place to identify, assess, control and prevent potential hazards (e.g. handling hazardous substances). There is an occupational safety committee that meets regularly and discusses all important or current problems. Measures are taken to prevent and minimise injuries, accidents and illnesses that are related to or occur during work processes. In co-operation with the employees, the company management implements measures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment with the help of an occupational safety specialist. Every employee has access to personal protective equipment free of charge. Employees receive occupational health care and are examined by the company doctor when they join the company. Employees can contact the company doctor at any time and have themselves examined. There is compulsory insurance in the event of accidents. There is access to clean drinking water as well as safe and clean dining, break and sanitary areas. - No child labour
We expressly reject and prohibit the use of child labour along the entire value chain. By „unlawful child labour“ we mean the unlawful forms of child labour described in Geneva Convention No. 182 of 19.11.2000 of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). https://www.ilo.org/wcmsp5/groups/public/-ed_norm/-normes/documents/normativeinstrument/wcms_c182_de.htm
We also understand this to include activities that pose a mental, physical, social or moral danger or harm to children and are contrary to their educational needs. The applicable national laws on compulsory education are complied with. We undertake not to directly or indirectly employ children under the legal minimum age of 15. - Special protection for young employees
We do not employ any young people under the age of 18 on a permanent basis. Young people aged 16 and over may work with us for a short period as part of a holiday activity. Young people aged 12 and over are allowed to do an internship of up to 2 weeks as part of their school education. Young people do not carry out any work with us that jeopardises their health, safety, morals or development. They do not work at night and their working hours do not interfere with their participation in vocational training programmes. - No precarious employment
We do not tolerate precarious working conditions (normal jobs are increasingly being turned into temporary, short-term or mini-jobs, and this is increasingly leading to precarious employment: too little pay, no social security, uncertain future, no sense of belonging). Before entering the employment relationship, employees receive clear information about their rights, obligations and working conditions (working hours, remuneration, areas of responsibility, etc.). The employment relationship is documented and enables the employee to secure their livelihood. - No forced labour
No forced labour or other labour under duress is used. It is ensured that employees are not subjected to inhuman or degrading treatment, corporal punishment, physical or psychological coercion and/or verbal punishment. Employees have the right to leave their workplace and terminate their employment relationship with the employer subject to a notice period. In the event of disciplinary measures, these must be documented in writing and explained verbally in a clear and comprehensible manner. - Environmental protection and sustainability
The company management supports and promotes sustainable and responsible operating and production methods. Adverse effects on the community, natural resources and the environment are minimised as a result. Procedures for the use and handling of energy resources, waste water treatment and waste management comply with legal requirements. Our company attaches great importance to the responsible use of raw materials and the environment. We take great care to ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with ecological aspects and that the environment is not polluted by harmful waste water or exhaust air. It is also important to us to work as energy-efficiently as possible. - Business integrity and ethical business practices
The company's management and employees must not work with unfair methods. This includes all types of corruption, extortion, embezzlement and bribery. In connection with this stipulation, it is not permitted to demand or accept benefits or advantages or to grant other persons inappropriate advantages. No agreements are made that lead to a restriction of free competition. Information about the company's activities, structure and performance is disclosed correctly. The company does not participate in any deceptive behaviour in the supply chain. Personal data of employees, business partners, customers and consumers are handled with appropriate care in accordance with the applicable legal requirements relating to data protection.
Quality policy
Through quality - more enjoyment of the game
This guiding principle is an obligation and a challenge for us. Kaiser & Kühne Freizeitgeräte has a long tradition of manufacturing high-quality and durable play equipment. Our vision is to give children the maximum amount of playtime fun with the best possible safety. Many of our ideas and improvements are the result of observations at our own company playground or suggestions from our employees who have children or even grandchildren themselves. We want to encourage children's individual creativity and thus contribute to the best possible development. The next generations are the future of us all.
The high quality of our products should be ensured by implementing the following principles:
- Every single employee is responsible for quality and contributes to the good quality of our products through focussed and conscious work.
- Our employees use common sense to adhere to company regulations and procedural instructions. We would like to encourage all employees to actively participate in the implementation of and compliance with the guidelines. Nevertheless, human error can always occur. It is therefore of the utmost importance that every error is reported to minimise its impact. Every employee is obliged to minimise damage.
- Our employees have mastered the work processes and pass on their experience to their colleagues. Passing on experience is a particularly important step. Not all relevant information is available in written form for reference. Much of it only exists in the heads of long-serving employees and cannot be taken for granted by new colleagues.
- Our employees should ask questions and make suggestions for improvement. Even if it often seems obvious or impracticable from another perspective, we want to take it seriously.
- The company undertakes to train its employees in the relevant areas.
- The company always has an „open ear“ for the concerns and needs of employees, even if these are of a private nature. If the employee is too preoccupied with problems, this can have a negative impact on the quality of their work performance.
- The management supports the implementation of the quality policy to ensure that our products are safe and comply with legal regulations and internal requirements. Customer satisfaction is one of the key orientations of our corporate policy.
- Only together can we constantly improve and survive as a company on the market in the long term.
